Sexual Health

We provide a wide range of family planning options including the contraceptive injection and implant.
We are also able to screen for most sexually transmitted infections including chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV and syphilis.
Please ask your doctor or nurse.

Emergency contraception is commonly referred to as "The morning after pill" or "EHC." If you have had sex without using contraception, or think your contraception might have failed, you can use emergency contraception.

If you need emergency contraception, it is available from:

  • Most Pharmacies (without prescription)
  • GP Surgeries
  • Sexual Health Services (without prescription)
  • Please be aware that not all doctors at the Ash Surgery are able to prescribe emergency contraception. We will however, endeavor to ensure a doctor is on hand to prescribe if necessary.
  • There are many local pharmacies that can provide free Emergency Contraception.
